The Money 2007 home page looks different today. It tells me my
password is incorrect. There is also no check box or drop down option
to work offline. What gives?

Try opening IE and selecting File-> WorkOffline.

Then try opening your Money file. Does that work? What happens? Do
you get an error message or what?

I guess I'm not doing the right thing yet; still can't log on or offline.
I've tried everything short of removing the software.

Money Plus can do that. What you could not do is to check any "third
party" financial institutions. If you have none, you might consider
removing the LiveID from your file. You could use a conventional or
no password.

Try going to IE and selecting File-> WorkOffline. Then start Money.

What, like removing that ridiculous Windows Live integration?
Someday, MS will learn and rip Passport/Live/Whatever they want
to call it out of Money.

Found this searching for a fix for the same problem you're all having
that seems to have happened today:

Looks like it's probably related to Daily Saving Time? Maybe wait til

The online login fails because something happened to a WindowsLive
server (or something like it) somewhere. MS will find the error, fix
it, and everything will be back to normal (we hope).

A Live ID is required to log in to your file because you associated
it. Even if your computer isn't connected to the internet, you still
can open the file. I assume the last ID and password used to log in is
stored somewhere in the file. Otherwise that wouldn't work.

Some banks don't support direct connections, so Microsoft has a deal
with Yodlee to connect to your bank's web site on your behalf. That
option DOES require a Live ID.

Since a Windows Live ID is not required to connect online to your
banks, they apparently provide direct connections. Your bank user IDs
and passwords definitely are stored in the Money file.

Same problem here, I signed in fine on November 2, today no luck. I know it
is the right password because I am able to sign into windows live ID.
Perhaps it is because of Daylight Savings Time?

Dan,
When it tells you incorrect password the first time, it blanks out the
password.
Put the password back in and then click work offline.
It'll let you in offline that way.

I'm having the same sign in problems with Money Plus Desux.

acceptable. Hello??

Gee Whiz... what did they do at microsoft? I have been using Money Plus
without incident for over a month now (in fact, I was using it just last
Tuesday). I've been pulling my hair out (and changing my Money/Windows Live
ID password for an hour now) trying to log into my Money File. When will
Microsoft admit THEY did "something rash" and FIX THE PROBLEM!!!!!

I HAVE BILLS TO PAY. ARGHHHHHH.

Signed, another frustrated user.
