Since pretty much everything related to forecasting of the future in Money
has become totally unreliable many years ago, I'm not even thinking about
turning these things on, or looking at the budget and such. Whenever I try,
in 10 seconds I see another "scheduled" bill that was canceled 2 years ago,
or "monthly expense" on something that happens once a year and is so
specified in the budget, and dozens of other similar things. Sure I can fix
them one by one, but I can't rely on software that in turn relies on me
fixing it. So, with every new version of Money, the first thing after the
installation is msconfig/startup and unchecking, unchecking, unchecking.

What's interesting is that Money functionality is pretty similar to what it
was in Money 1.0 - track and balance accounts. However, it mysteriously
takes 400x the computing power to do it now, for some reason. I can play

computer to balance my checkbook??

"Activation" as it exists in M+ was new for M+. Previous versions had
different mechanisms depending on the distribution channel. (Copies
distributed online had something similar, retail CDs did not.)

I'm quite surprised you had different results with a purchased copy than
with the trial.

This version is extremely slow...on an AMD 64Bit 2 GB DDR Memory with 250 MB
of free Hard Drive space running Vista Home Premium....that is just
pathetic! Most of the time, the mouse cursor and the Vista "blue ring" look
like they are battling it out on my screen to see if it is BUSY or READY and
they can't decide for about 2 minutes.

I turned off ALL the FYI Alerts, the Windows LIVE! association, ad links,
and anything else that really makes it deluxe, and while it did show an
improvement, the net result is poor and even makes Money 2006 DX look like
Lightning McQueen.

It was nice that M$ snuck in the Product Activation "bug"...I am accustomed
to having Money installed on my Desktop and laptop. There is NO WAY that I
am going to buy another copy.

BTW, for the curious, the only major addition to M+ is the INSIGHTS program
that alerts you of upcoming bills when you are not in the program. Other
than that, the interface looks just like M2006....99% work for word.

So at this point, I'm going to call and get a refund and revert back to
2006. Does 2007 have that activation requirement as well? If not, I might
locate one for purchase....
