The difference being automatic matching to existing payments? If so,
you should be able to change and link, in that case.

I can't believe that. After all, when all else fails in fixing file problems,
they tell you to export everything to QIF, then import those QIFs into a new
account.

I can't be 100% certain but I think once Money has "timed out" you can't
read any QIF files.

Default No one can force you to upgrade if you donot want to.

As far as I understand no one can force you to upgrade if you donot want to.
It's simple just chuck the "Improving your experience thing". I'd suggest
you install a QIF converter as Banks normally give you the option of
downloading a statement via a CSV file.
Please try http://xl2qif.chez-alice.fr/links_en.php if you want to know what
I'm talking about.
Do take all precautions like Backups and Please check the manuals carefully
before you apply the software.

Default RE: My accounts held hostage by Microsoft

As per my understanding, you really don't *need* to upgrade to M 2008 from M
2006. It's just that the online services stop working after the stipulated
period.
So, effectively its the same!

However, I would like to recommend a few of trouble-shooting steps:
1. Run the level-2 repair.
2. Also try deleting and recreating the connection(s) with your financial
institution.
3. Perform updates for Money

No need to block the charge on your credit card. MS has a 30 day money back
guarantee. If you want to get get your money back, just ask.

I'll bet it was a LOT closer to the top than that, but your point is well
taken: they could hide a pony in there because we are long since conditioned
to not read them.

Have you researched this before saying it? They were first with service
expirations. They have a history of less than happy users. There is no easy
conversion path that will take your data with you. More power to you if you
want to go there, but spare us the polemics unless you really know what you
are getting into. We're just users too.

Default My accounts held hostage by Microsoft

I was pretty happy with MS Money 2006, it would download my data and
have it ready for me about 90% of the time. A couple of weeks ago, MS
Money started notifying me that I needed to upgrade to MS Money 2008.
This requirement must have been buried somewhere between paragraph 150
and paragraph 200 of the EUA I was forced to sign in order to use
version 2006.

So I paid my bucks and upgraded.

Now my connection is available less than 20% of the time and I'm
having to manually log into my banks to determine the status of
transactions and balances. If Microsoft doesn't fix these problems in
one week, then I'm blocking the charge on my charge card and buying
Quicken.
