An older version of Money cannot use a .mny file from a newer> office PC (XP). I suspect that this is because I accepted the update offer > when I installed the office Money 2005 on my home PC (so I could do the > parish accounts). version of Money. When the newer version converted your Money 2005 file, it left a copy of the file as it existed at that time named *.m14 . You could copy that file to the old computer and open it with your office computer, as long as that computer had already been updated to version 14.0.*.1105 in the past. - quote - > I can't update the Money software on the office PC, because
Maybe. If the new version is Money Plus, you can copy the install> the network is being recabled and doesn't work at the moment. Is it possible > to download the update on my home PC and then install it on the office PC? file via CDR or USB flash drive to the new computer. If you got it by download, you should have kept a copy. If you paid extra, you could have gotten an extended download period. Otherwise there is a shorter time to download. Alternatively, try adding a USB wireless adaptor. Perhaps you are in range of a friendly neighbor. |

| Microsoft hasn't provided any way to get the Money updates besides their internal methods. Can you do an Internet Connection Sharing connection with, say, a laptop with a dialup ISP connection? You'd just have to network the M05 pre-update machine to the laptop to make that go. | I'm unable to read a .mny file I created on my home PC (XP) on the (parish) office PC (XP). I suspect that this is because I accepted the update offer when I installed the office Money 2005 on my home PC (so I could do the parish accounts). I can't update the Money software on the office PC, because the network is being recabled and doesn't work at the moment. Is it possible to download the update on my home PC and then install it on the office PC? -- Maurice |
