| If you don't do any downloads, I would stick with what you have. The only version you could upgrade to and be able to use the downloads would be Money Plus, to my knowledge the online update support expired for all the older versions (which is what recently forced me to upgrade from Money 2006 to Money Plus... which ain't so Plus). | Thanks for your reply, Dick Watson. Seen many of your replies to other posts, questions, respect your opinion. My money file goes back to M99. The only mistake I made a way back was Archiving. Wish I could reverse that., it's my main reason about inquiring regarding a newer version. would hate to struggle or lose any information in the upgrade. Thanks Again. | One other advantage to an upgrade to M+: you'll show Microsoft you still care about the product and are willing to endorse its continued existence with real dollars sent their way. |

| An upgrade to Money Plus Deluxe should be trouble free. Would there be any advantage? That's a harder question. Almost every effort put into developing Money since M02 has been aimed at dumbing it down, adding alternate usage modes aimed at dumbing it down and confusing people, and "improving the online financial management experience" or some similar marketing prattle. None of these things seem like they'd benefit you--as they don't benefit me because I also do not do any Money<-> FIs electronic interchange. Seems like I get better results that way, judging from any single day's postings here. Compared to where you are with M02, M+ Deluxe would look different, have more ads, have built in expiration of things like stock quote downloads, and be supported. It **might** be slightly more stable and less prone to munging up your data file. It would have somewhat better/more flexible backup options. Beyond that, well, ... You could download/install the M+ Deluxe (NOT Money Essentials as it WILL NOT deal with your data file) trial version from http://www.microsoft.com/money and see for yourself. You might have problems with stability and performance with an upgraded file unless you do a rather complicated process to replace all of your scheduled bills that is known by some of us as Nuke the Bills. If you want to play with the trial version, be sure you understand the implications for rolling back to M02 and preserve your options. If you have questions along this line, post back. | I am using MS Money 2002 Deluxe version 10.0. Any advantage in converting to a new version of MS Money. Don't do any online downloads, just manual bookkeeping of checking, savings, and credit cards, also manual balancing the accounts. What hastles would I encounter if I did convert to newer version and what version would anybody recommend. Thank you. |
