| Dick, So far, speed isn't an issue. My file goes back to 1996 and is about 15 megs. The M+ Deluxe trial slowed everything down to a crawl on my Vista 64Bit Dual Processor laptop. Since I don't do the interactive banking or quote tracking, my hunch is to stay with what is working-Money 2006 Deluxe. Maybe Money will enjoy an overhaul in the 2009 version that would seem to make it look more like VISTA and work well with it. My question here is...will the Tax Estimator be updated annually or just for the 3 year window? Glenn B. Also, if you one who does scheduled backup to USB flash drives, you would find that the number of backups to keep is honored; you don't have to delete the extras manually. Also, Plus can use USB flash drives with more than 2 GB of free space without problems. On the downside, some "modules" that can be configured into the "home" page got slow. |

| The feature some of us know as "Nuke the bills," first introduced in M07, largely addressed performance and stability issues I was having--worst in M06--but at a considerable cost in my time to capture the bills information and put it all back in. At present I am using M07. I used M+ for the entire trial period in a dual-entry trial. I found it more or less identical and maybe a little less buggy--I never saw the "Money is already running" exit bug nor the Paycheck morph bug. I have not upgraded to M08 for a long series of reasons which mostly come down to a) sloth and b) it really offers not one improvement over M07 that is of any value to me. I will probably upgrade at some point in the not too distant future. I just have to make the time to do it. For more capsule reviews, see http://umpmfaq.info/Money2005.htm, http://umpmfaq.info/Money2006.htm, and http://umpmfaq.info/Money2007.htm. There will be a page for M+ posted sometime Real Soon Now. | Dick, which version are YOU using? I liked 2004, but it was slooooowww. 2005 wasn't better. 2006 finally fixed the speed issue. When I tried the M+ trial, it slowed my computer down to a crawl using the 2006 file. | 2004? If you like what they did with M05, then you'll probably find M+ the best of the M05 series. | I have Vista Home Premium on a new laptop and have dusted off my MS Money Deluxe 2006. So far, no problems. My question is, which version of Money Deluxe Version seems to be faster with the least amount of bugs? Money 2006, 2007, or Plus? -- Glenn B. |
