There's no way to restrict what gets exported or imported. But you can edit
the QIF file in Notepad to delete any ones you want to after the export and
before the import. Study the format and keep copies of everything 'til you
get it all sorted out. There are many links to info about QIF in the FAQ.

The fact that everything is in your archive means archive worked exactly as
it is designed to. It makes a copy of your file exactly as it exists, calls
it the archive file, then deletes the "archived" transactions from your
current file. This is how it's documented as working. All in all, archive is
pretty useless and very few people really understand what it does.
