| Cal, Absolutely amazing! Worked like a charm!! TKS! BTW .. if you are in the market I would recommend CVRD also traded on NYSE. Ask your broker and I'm sure you'll get a BUY recommendation! Again ... tks for the tip. "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, Bob wrote: > > 1. Somehow, while it changes elsewhere, the Portfolio and AccountSummary remember the original currency when you change the stock's country later. The workaround with 2007, it could have been a little easier, but not a big difference. Here is my suggested workaround: In the details, remove (blank) the symbol, if any. Rename the existing stock to something you will never use. Let's suppose you choose czzzz (which will put it alphabetically close to CVRD). Create a new stock with the correct name, such as CVRD. I would leave the symbol blank for now. Select the proper country. Go back to investment czzzz and choose InvestmentActivities. If you have any Sell transactions in czzzz, first create a new fake AddShares of zzzz for many more shares than you ever held. Change each transaction to CVRD using the drop-down list. Start with the oldest transaction. Keep going until there are no more czzzz transactions remaining, except for the fake AddShares. Then Delete the fake AddShares. At that point you can Delete czzzz. - quote - > "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: > > In microsoft.public.money, Bob wrote: > > > > tks ... but I don't wish to change the currency for investment quotes. > > > My difficulty is when I show my portofolio, using Portfolio shortcut as you > > > suggested, and see a list of my holdings ALL of which are in local Brazilian > > > Real currency. In the investment details, what is the country that is listed? You can right-click a reference to the investment and choose to go to the investment details. 2. Do you have a symbol on it? 3. What version of Money are you using? Help-> About should tell you. - quote - > Also, since the Brazilian Real is my Base currency and the symbol is R$ why > doesn't the symbol appear in any of the reports? | Cal, tks ... but I don't wish to change the currency for investment quotes. My difficulty is when I show my portofolio, using Portfolio shortcut as you suggested, and see a list of my holdings ALL of which are in local Brazilian Real currency. For just ONE of the holdings, the "Last Price" (which I input manually), "Cost Basis", "Market Value" amounts that show have the US$ symbol even though in Tools > Settings > Program Settings > Currency, the Brazilian Real is selected as the Base currency. This particular stock is quoted in Brazilian Real on the Brazilian Stock Exchange and I input and update the quotes prices always in R$ Also, since the Brazilian Real is my Base currency and the symbol is R$ why doesn't the symbol appear in any of the reports? I just see the amounts without any symbol "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, Bob wrote: > > All of several holdings listed in Account Summary are correctly listed in > > local currency (Brazil Real) EXCEPT one that appears in US$ at an invalid > > exchange rate. In later versions Tools-> Settings-> ProgramSettings-> UpdateCurrencies lets you set exchange rates and determine if the rates are to be updated on line. I hope that if that is set up right, the correct Brazil Real totals will use the correct exchange rate. Incidentally, the Portfolio views are often a better way to look at your investments. You can configure in the columns most useful to you. I suggest enabling Portfolio Shortcut. |

| All of several holdings listed in Account Summary are correctly listed in local currency (Brazil Real) EXCEPT one that appears in US$ at an invalid exchange rate. I would like ALL holdings listed in local currency, i.e., how do I get this one holding to be displayed in local currency? I have used all instructions for currency conversion, i.e., right click amount box and use currency converter but no luck. suggestions? TIA |
