| Well, yes, but the XP system now only has one file listed in that directory; manifest.xml. The Vista system has what looks to be the complete RC3 file and folder set because it somewhat mirrors the content in the MNYCoreFiles directory taking up 32MB. So, I know it is not completing the update properly based on that, based o version info, etc. -- Jason Harrison Harrison Technology Consulting Microsoft Small Business Specialist www.harrisontechconsulting.com "johnbusc[at]hotmail.com" wrote: - quote - > On Oct 14, 1:30 pm, Jason Harrison > <sbah...[at]harrisontechconsulting.com> wrote: > > I don't have a mnyupdate file to send. | Good point on the IE settings. I will have to take a look at them. I had already considered file location / privileges and had previously verified all of that before my initial post. Jason, Don't you observe the same "two MNYCoreFiles folders" on your XP install as well? I think every core update creates a "new" core folder regardless of OS. Regards, JB |

If they are in a place like ProgramFiles, Vista will create an impermanent copy of the file for the user to use, unless the user explicitly right-clicks at launch and choose RunAsAdministrator that time. Check that the SSL2 protocol is enabled. That checkbox is in IE Tools-> InternetOptions-> Advanced. It may also be necessary to disable TLS 1.0. Then try right-clicking the Money icon and choosing RunAsAdministrator to let potential updates happen once. Reboot the computer. |

| There are a couple of posts already in here covering issues with the RC3 update and Vista. I too have had trouble with Money Plus and the RC3 update. My situation may be slightly different, so I am posting it here as a new post. I am running Money Plus Deluxe on Vista 32bit OS. When I log on to Money Plus a dialog box opens and says "To successfully continue to use Money Plus an update is required." Ok or Cancel. If I click Ok and allow the update process to proceed I receive another message regarding downloading the RC3 bits. The download proceeds and then the install seems to take place, but never provides any feedback regarding a successful installation. It just simply disappears. I can restart Money Plus and everything seems to be Ok. Later when I come back to use Money Plus I am prompted with the "To successfully continue to use Money Plus an update is required" again. I've let that run one additional time and the exact same process takes place. It simply loops and the RC3 bits never seem to get installed completely or at all. We also have a copy of Money Plus running on an XP SP2 box here. It updated to the RC3.bits as expected. I don't have a mnyupdate file to send. But one interesting thing I have noted is that under the Program Files\Microsoft Money Plus folder I have two MNYCoreFiles folders. One is listed as just "MNYCoreFiles” the other is listed as "MNYCoreFiles(New)" with a GUID training the (New). So to me that says the update does not finish properly. I may go in and do a little hacking on this to see if eliminating the (new) folder and re-running the update has any different results. I will post a follow up to this post with the results. Can anyone on the Microsoft Money team please comment regarding this issue? Thank you! -- Jason Harrison Harrison Technology Consulting Microsoft Small Business Specialist www.harrisontechconsulting.com |
