You didn't clarify the version year. Is it 07 or Plus (08)? Or an> bills and > budget again I am trying to now set up the Lifetime Planner. The LTP did lose some functionality (IMO) in 07 when Microsoft added the 'Savings and Spending' budget. Before that, tax line categories were excluded from the LTP expenses carried over from budget, then added back in by the average tax rates based on your state. In 07 and later, all categories are included in expenses carried over from budget. For accuracy, you can no longer 'use this budget estimate' but have to calculate the numbers and enter the result manually. The 'Estimate expenses' button does display a means to do that. It may behoove you to customize some expense and budget reports to better estimate the number and gain some confidence in what the model predicts. The LTP is, after all, just a model. It can be made more representative by tweaking the inputs but, in the end, it's still a WAG. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL |

| I recently upgraded to the new Money Deluxe and after setting up bills and budget again I am trying to now set up the Lifetime Planner. The problem I'm running into is that it seems to be accounting for income taxes twice. I set up the budget using gross paychecks and therefore taxes as part of the committed expenses. However when I run the planner it has a line item for taxes that is significantly higher than we pay in taxes PLUS the committed expenses include the taxes from our budget. Any suggestions? THANKS! |
