I did some more checking, and I find I can reproduce the problem.> for all three accounts regardless of activity. and, i only > get it for the first one. The problem, I think, is that the Vanguard OFX file lacks <ACCTINFO> <INVACCTINFO> ... </INVACCTINFO> </ACCTINFO> tags -- and maybe more. The OFX 2.0.1 spec says ================================================== ============= 8.5 Account Information .... For each account, there is one <ACCTINFO> aggregate returned. The aggregate includes one servicespecific account information aggregate for each service available to that account. That, in turn, provides the service-specific account identification. Common to each service-specific account information aggregate is the <SVCSTATUS> element, which indicates the status of this service on this account. ------------------------and later - 13.6.2 Investment Account Information <INVACCTINFOThe <INVACCTINFO> aggregate should appear in the <ACCTINFOaggregate for accounts that support investment statement download. ================================================== ============= So I think the problem is with the Vanguard OFX download. |

That's a neat trick. I find it only works for OFX 2. OFX 1 is not> then its not too bad to read. as i said above, the > response contains <acctid> and position confirmation info > for all three accounts. fully XML compliant. - quote - > and, they appear to be structured
Some other things you might want to try. Downloading for "Quicken"> identically except for account numbers and actual position > values, etc. so, it looks to me like there is some kind > of bug in the response processing in money that's causing > it to only process the first account. > the ofx that i download directly from vanguard.com looks > very different than the response ofx. so, apparently its > structured in a way that doesn't trigger the bug. from the Vanguard site used to give an OFX 1 file but with the extension .qfx. Money could read it fine. Also, the OFX specs are available from http://www.ofx.net/ofx/default.asp |

cool trick. it appears that the request and response bothhold down > the Cntl+Shift keys while pressing the Connect button. That will > save the transaction info into two files. "Vanguard 000000000 > RQ.txt" is the request info generated by Money , and "Vanguard > 000000000 RS.txt" is the response file. The 000000000 will be a > different number. contain all three accounts. another odd thing i notice though is that there are two sets of request and response file pairs for vanguard(4 total files). both pairs appear to have the same content except for the transaction id kinds of fields. i'm not sure why money is asking twice for the same info. - quote - > The RS file is a little trickier in that Vanguard does not insert > any end-of-line characters. But if there are three accounts there, > you should still be able to find three occurrences of <ACCTID> followed by the three account numbers. if i rename the response file .xml and pull it into IE then its not too bad to read. as i said above, the response contains <acctid> and position confirmation info for all three accounts. and, they appear to be structured identically except for account numbers and actual position values, etc. so, it looks to me like there is some kind of bug in the response processing in money that's causing it to only process the first account. the ofx that i download directly from vanguard.com looks very different than the response ofx. so, apparently its structured in a way that doesn't trigger the bug. thanks for the help |

I would wonder if there have not been any transactions in those other accounts in the past couple months and Vanguard limits the Money download time. There may be older data available on the website. If you would like to see the ofx files money is using, hold down the Cntl+Shift keys while pressing the Connect button. That will save the transaction info into two files. "Vanguard 000000000 RQ.txt" is the request info generated by Money , and "Vanguard 000000000 RS.txt" is the response file. The 000000000 will be a different number. Using a text editor such as notepad, you can check by looking at the RQ file that it indeed has three lines of <ACCTID> followed by the account IDs. The RS file is a little trickier in that Vanguard does not insert any end-of-line characters. But if there are three accounts there, you should still be able to find three occurrences of <ACCTIDfollowed by the three account numbers. |

| i was having this problem with mny 2002. i just upgraded to 2004 and am still having the same problem. we have 3 accounts w/ vanguard. i have an ira. my wife has an ira. and we have a joint regular account. this accounts are properly linked at vanguard. that is, i can see all 3 of these accounts from my vanguard online login. all three of these accounts in money are enabled for stmt download and the account numbers are correct. when i go through the online setup wizard, after login and download, it correctly asks me about all three accounts and does the right verification questions to be sure how to match up the three accounts that vanguard is reporting with the three accounts i already have set up in money. in other words, vanguard appears to be properly reporting all three accounts. but, only the first account(my ira) ever shows any transactions/stmt activity in read online statements. however, if i login to vanguard from my browser and manually download the .ofx file to my hard disk and then double click it everything works the way its supposed to and activity for all three of the accounts gets posted for review under read online statements. is this some subtle setup problem on my end? a vanguard bug? or a money bug? is anyone else having this problem w/ vanguard? thanks |
