When I right-click sample.mny in Windows Explorer in the Documents folder there is no RunAsAdministrator option! -- John "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, JohnMatt wrote: > > Hi have just bought a new computer running Vista. Check that the SSL2 protocol is enabled. That checkbox may be in> Standard. > I always log onto Windows as an Administrator. > When Money starts it asks me to log off and log back on as a part of the > Administrator Group. IE Tools-> InternetOptions-> Advanced. Find the sample.mny file in your install folder. That may be "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money 2005". Copy sample.mny file to your Documents folder in Vista. In Windows Explorer, right-click that file and choose RunAsAdministrator. It will do an update. Close Money. Reboot the computer. Then open Money and check that Help-> About... says you then have version 14.0.*.1105. Make sure your .mny and .mbf files are in your Documents folder. Then you should be able to File-> Open or Restore your existing files. |

| Hi have just bought a new computer running Vista. I have loaded Money 2005 Standard. I always log onto Windows as an Administrator. When Money starts it asks me to log off and log back on as a part of the Administrator Group. There don't seem to be Groups in Vista, so I can't oblige and so can't get the patch and so can't open my Mny file, which was created by patched Money 2005 running on XP. What to do? -- John |
