That was not prescience on my part but simply dissatisfaction. Considering the quality of service, failure is not surprising.) Emigrant doesn't have direct or indirect connections to Money but the web site provides OFX downloads. My transactions are infrequent so that's not a problem to me. Transfers to/from Wachovia download into Money and post as transfers to Emigrant. The only Emigrant transactions that don't post automatically are interest. I record those when I balance the account every 2 or 3 months. Hope this helps. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL |

| It was sort of a joke. I knew you didn't know, but maybe guessed. LOL. Anyhow, I have to give kudos to FDIC. We never lost access to the money and everything was ready to go back to normal in 48 hours (actually took about 53) and we have two months to close the accounts or let them move to IMGDirect. Even then, of course, we can close them. That is the default. Schwab Bank looks good but you have to open a linked Brokerage account. ING's rate is 4.3% as opposed to NetBank's 4.5%. I have no complaints about the rate really. With the cut in the Discount rate, the high rate was going to come down soon anyhow. ING, unlike NetBank, will not let you write a check on the MMA, which frankly I don't like. Yes, you can transfer to a linked checking account; however, their site says something about that taking 2-3 business days. Not cool! I've been a long-term customer of Wachovia, satisfied with what I use it for. Service is decent but interest rates are poor, which is why I use it only for checking. I moved my savings at NetBank to EmigrantDirect. They have some limitations like not transferring to MMFs like NetBank would but, generally, seem more interested in my satisfaction. NetBank seemed more interested in impeding my access to my money. |

| Emigrant Direct does download an OFX file including Interest. It is just that it takes about a week after the interest is posted for it to show up in the download which is sort of annoying. -- Peace, BobJ "SteveC" <sconklan.nospam.yahoo.com> wrote in message news 9EF20D0-FF8C-4279-9203-699DB30090F9[at]microsoft.com...LOL; how did you know it was NetBank. | The new bank tells me that driect services in MS Money are insecure and too costly. I had rejected having an account at their bank because of its lack of support for direct services and billpay within Money. So now I am back to looking for a new bank. I prefer a national bank with good money market rates. I don't mean 1 or 2%, which works both ways with MS Money. Anyone have a suggestion. By the way, I don't think Money transactions are insecure. I have been using them for 10 years without incident. What do you think? |
