I have the same exact problem. Husband and I have our accounts with
different login information and Money downloads the joint account
twice (once for each of us):

Husband Account
Joint Account 1
Wife Account
Dupilicate Joint Account 2

In Money, I closed one of the joint accounts listed, however in my
experience (Money Plus)...it still downloads transactions into the
closed account! I just delete out the transactions in that account
periodically and reset the account starting balance to zero. Then I
go look at reports, etc.

I had hoped Money was going to fix this in this new version (either
stop money from downloading information to accounts marked as closed
accounts or allow you to specify what specific accounts to download or
not download from your bank)... as I had the same problem in
2006/2007.

Ah well. I love the automatic downloading enough that I just deal with
it! One day though.... hopefully one day!

Merge will merge an online with a non-online account.

Close the accounts you don't want downloaded. To keep the contents
from affecting things, delete the transactions in the account.

What I did in a similar situation was close one of the accounts. Money will
only download to Open accounts. I then deleted all the information in the
closed account. I named the account with words bogus at end to remind
myself and wife not to re-open it.

Default duplicate account created from onlineservice

My wife & I have Money 2006 and have bank accounts that we keep updated via
Money's "online updates". We have one single Money file, and two separate
bank logins.

Under my bank login, I have my checking acct and our joint savings acct
linked together. Under my wife's login, she has her checking acct and our
joint savings acct linked together.

If we set up Money to online updates using either one of our bank logins,
Money will download info for the joint acct and the person's checking acct.
That's fine.

The problem is when we try to have both bank logins set up in Money. Money
uses our two logins and thinks that it has bank accounts to track:

my checking
our joint#1
her checking
our joint#2

There's no way in Money that I can find to merge joint#1 with joint#2, and I
can't seem to disable downloads for just one account within a bank login.

Any ideas?
