I have Wachovia Crown Banking and like it. In my case, I also have my
mortgage through Wachovia so the minimum balance is no problem and my Money
usage is free. I have used the online bill pay through Money for years with
little or no problem as well.

My experience with Wachovia's online integration with Money is good,
but Jody asked for " no-fee, no minimum or low minimum balance".
Wachovia's is either a fee, or a minimum balance in certain accounts.

I consider the minimum balance required to be reasonable. It a too
high of a hurdle for others. Jody's comments suggest an objection in
principle to minimum balance. Our opinions differ, but they are simply
that: opinions.

Jody, I agree that banks charge unconscionable fees for a lot of
things. The worst is to charge someone to cash a check drawn on the
same bank, if they don't have an account there. But, in the case of
integration with Money, I respectfully disagree. Almost every bank
that might charge you to link to it with Money probably offers web
banking for free. You can get free service, probably including bill
pay, but it might not be _exactly_ what you want. For that, you may
have to pay at least a modest amount.

I'm enjoying free service with Chase Bank, but I think it is some kind of
error. I had free banking through Money when Chase was Bank One, and it
seems to have carried over through their merger/buy-out.

I'm not going to call them and ask why!

People speak well of Fifth Third with bill pay. I noted positive
comments for LaSalle with bill pay. Howard reported Wachovia is free
for customers with Crown Banking and similar accounts, but I don't
know if that included bill pay from within Money.

Some people have reported positive experience with BoA, and others
less so.

Chris,

I really dont think this is a lot to ask. This is exactly what I have had
for the past 8 years. Banks do not need to nickel and dime their customers,
by charging a fee for every little thing, to receive income or make a
profit. People who pay $10/month to download their transactions in Money
are getting ripped off. There are better options out there.

You're asking a lot. Basically you want the bank to provide free
services with no income to compensate them.

Default Bank Options

Can anyone reccommend a good bank to use with Microsoft Money? I am looking
for: no-fee, no minimum or low minimum balance, with free bill pay that can
be used from within Money, and paper check writing priviledges. I have been
a NetBank customer for the past 8 years. They are being shut down and our
accounts are being transfered to ING. Howeve, ING doesn't allow paper
checks. Any Ideas?

Thanks,

Jody
