Yeah, living old-timers is surely quite a scare for Money team, we see various kinds of nods to the expectations of functionality and accuracy every day. In the future, today's newcomers will be probably in the same position compared to then-newcomers, so Money team by then will be hiding things like essential register as unnecesserily complex. Care to guess what will be new features for the new newcomers? regards |

| I may have misled you by telling you there was a Bills Summary icon on the top. It's not there anymore in a newly created file. You only get the shortcuts when you force the issue. I think the Money team has a conscious plan to hide virtually every feature in the program from new users so that when the old timers die they can take these features away and none of the new-post-2004 users will ever notice. | On the Bills Summary page to the left is a Change bill settings link. Click there and follow the dialog boxes to change to Advanced Bills. There is also a setting at Tools|Settings|Bill settings. You will probably want to do the same on the registers. (There used to be a global setting to change all accounts to Advanced Register. I can't find it anymore. The best I can find is: Use these steps to switch an account between the Essential and Advanced Registers. 1.. Click Banking, and then click Account List. 2.. Click the name of an account. 3.. In the left pane, under Other tasks, click Change account settings. 4.. Under Register Detail, click: Switch to the Advanced Account Register -or- Switch to the Essential Account Register 5.. Follow the instructions on the screen. ) Also, this would be easier on everyone if you'd keep the discussion in one thread while we stay on the same subject. | If you can only create bills, and not deposits, try changing to the advanced bills/deposits, rather than using 'essential' bills and deposits. -- Glyn Simpson, Microsoft MVP - Money http://money.mvps.org See http://money.mvps.org/faq/default.aspx for tips and fixes for MS Money. | When I went to "new" under 'bill summary" under HOME, it only gives me the option to create a new bill, ie something I am paying to some one out of my checking or savings. I need to enter a recurring paycheck. When I right click on previous direct deposits in my register, I get the option to change the name but there is still no where on there to make it recurring. Thanks again for taking the time to help me out, it's much appreciated1 |
