| Here's what I've had to do in the past... For the shares I hold, right click on the investment and select "investment details." I then changed the ticker to a temporary name. On the left of the screen, I clicked on "work with investments." Then click 'delete an investment from all accounts.' You'll be given a list and can select anything not greyed out on the list. (Greyed-out names indicate currently open positions.) Delete the name in question Right click again on your investment, select 'investment details' and re-enter the correct symbol. | I'm running Money 2006 on a Vista computer and I have run into a problem that I can't solve and it is driving me crazy. I have an account with Vanguard that shows up in my Investments/Portfolio View. For some reason the fund's account symmbol doesn't show up and the price doesn't get updated automatically. The account is shown as "Vanguard GNMA Admiral Shares" in Account Setup and I manually entered the fund's symbol as VFIJX. Trying to fix the problem I went to Account Details and tried to manually enter the symbol but it is not accepted. I get the message that the symbol is already being used by an account named "Vanguard GNMA Adm." Oddly that name is the name I should be using for the account symbol but to my knowledge no such account name exists on my computer. I just tried renaming the account in both Account Setup and in Account Details. I can do it in Account Setup but can't do it in Account Details where I'm told it already exists. I tried the deep repair of my Money file but that didn't fix the problem. Can anyone tell me how to find the phantom account? I would like to fix the problem so that price updates become automatic. TIA |
