Money re-maps categories based on prior transactions you've imported and
categorized with similar payees/"categories" when importing a statement. Is
it possible that you've trained it OK for "BMW" and not OK for "LIDL"? What
happens the next time if you hand edit these transactions before accepting
them?

Bare in mind that the "" around the CAtegories are for reading purposes,
because they do not exist on the qif file.

Hi

I had tested importing a Statement and some of the Categories were not being
imported correctly.
I then tested today importing as a Recovered account and it seems to be
importing the Categories.

I will have to double check the second step I made, but surely it is not
importing categories information (that are already created on Money 2008)
when importing as a Bank Statement.

As requested:

THIS IS NOT WORKING (and this is part of the 90% categories that are not
being imported:
###############
D05-08-2007
N5
P"LIDL"
L"Groceries"
U-53.51
T-53.51

AND THIS IS WORKING (part of the 10% that are working)
#######################
D29-08-2007
N44
P"BMW"
L"Automobile"
U-687.22
T-687.22

I remind you that all the categories that exist on the qif file already
exists in Money and somewhere in this newsgroup I have found someone with the
same problem but on previous versions of Money.

Cheers,

Is this an issue that's been previously reported here?

Open one of the QIF files that's not importing correctly in Notepad. Copy
one of the transactions that's not importing correctly. Paste it into a
reply and tell us how it actually imports.
