| I am very dissappointed with Microsoft. The 2008 "upgrade" is worthless. I think that's why they didn't put "2008" on the box. It takes me a good 10 minutes to have the program up and running. While it gets itself going, everything else on my computer is at a complete stand still. I haven't tried removing/reducing the spending tracker yet. I am curious to see how that helps me. |

The new Money Plus update may fix that. After the download runs, try> Plus (2008) and noticed a terrible lag when loading the home page. | I noticed the same thing. I "upgraded" from Microsoft Money 2003 to Money Plus (2008) and noticed a terrible lag when loading the home page. I narrowed it down to the spending tracker and removed it, since the older version is no longer supported by some financial institutions that I use. This is ridiculous, I mean how could my old 2003 version have loaded the same info in about 0.5 seconds, but the new version takes five to ten seconds. "CJ" wrote: - quote - > also, i just timed it. | I experience the same problem. I had 2006 and run very slow, but when I upgraded to 2008 it is at least 4 times slower. It is unusable. And, "real time calculation" is not an excuse to be slow. C'mon. this people should spend some time improving this software that is bad and I regret I bought the upgrade. I did not see any improvement on the existing bugs. I have it down to the point where each item i add to the spending> of items > tracked in the Spending Tracker I was able to speed-up the process slightly. tracker adds 8 seconds to the load time. just crazy. |

| also, i just timed it. It took exactly 1 minute 2 seconds to show the home page after clicking on it. it used to load in about 2 seconds flat. my new computer (the one with "Plus") is a Quad Core 3Ghz machine, up from a 2Ghz single core system. I'm thinking it should be called "Money Plus 1:02" |

| how they didn't catch this during beta testing is baffling. is there any feedback mechanism that will let you directly talk to MS re Money issues? |

| That's interesting. I was wondering if anyone else would experience this. My experience is quite similar to yours. I found that by reducing the number of items tracked in the Spending Tracker I was able to speed-up the process slightly. (Oh so slightly) Removing the Spending Tracker completely sped up the process considerably. But, not enough to warrant continuing to run that version with the reduced functionality. That, and I found the reintroduced Bills Alert interface somewhat clunky and poorly thought out. So. Back with 2007. I'll see what 2009 brings. | My understanding is that the spending tracker has to recalculate in real time hence the delay. Better to remove from Home page. -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money For UK tips & fixes see http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny. | I just "upgraded" from Money 2007 to Money Plus. If I include "Spending Tracker" on my home page Money Plus takes quite a long time to load the home page. This is on a 3Ghz Quad Core processor with 2 Gigs of RAM. Nothing else I run behaves this slowly. Money 2007 did not have this issue. Any ideas besides removing it from the home page? I would miss it very much, one of the most useful parts of Money in my opinion. |
