Default RE: Expired Money Feature

Are you (i.e. "Birdflu") based in USA, or as I am, in UK?
The reason I ask is that in Sep '07 my Money 2005 program would no longer
update the investments in Program Manager section, then the whole program
seemed to go haywire regarding backup/restore of saved money files.
Learning from the Microsoft website that Money 2005 was not being upgraded I
intended to purchase the Money Plus (2007/8), but I was informed officially
that it is only for the USA market and is not operable in the UK. (i.e the UK
banks and investment updates would not be available).
I would happily purchase the 2008 or any other version if this feature was
available to us.
Instead I bought a new copy of the Money 2005 from an online supplier who
assured me that I would have a further two years of full-feature use with it.
Not so, the new disk and program files are exactly the same and it works no
better than the old one.
I know of no other money program that can do the same as the Microsoft
program, so I'm just hoping they will make it available for use in the UK
soon.

Default RE: Expired Money Feature

Wait until you download and pay for the latest version and find that at least
two previously available features have been changed and effectivly been
disable.

Money Plus.....plus what?

Please see the OnlineServicesPolicy button on the Help-> About
screen. Clicking that will give a page that says "Microsoft® Money
2007 includes up to two (2) years of Online Services. You will be
able to use the Online Services in Microsoft Money 2007 for a period
of two (2) years from activation of the product or until September
1, 2009, whichever is earlier."

Money 2008 is actually called Money Plus. It is now available. See

Default RE: Expired Money Feature

Interesting to note that my version of 2005 also expired.(Problem addressed
in earlier post). However, after down loading a trial version of 2007, I
find that updates to the investments files works teriffic. Although this did
not appear to be working properly in 2005 since there is no price history and
both 2005 and 2007 have the exact same settings.

Seems that Microsoft instead of fixing the problem knew in advance that this
would be fixed in a later version, therefore the expired feature.

The only way for me to update the price history of brokerage investment
account in 2005 was to do a manual update. This is out of the question and
prone to errors... Perhaps I'm missing something here?

What are the anticipated expired features in 2007?

I am getting totally confuse on the versions of Money that are available.
Is 2007 available? Is 2008 available? I seem to running around in
circles......(:-)......

Thanks in advance.....

This was known to be coming for more than three years.

Let us know what you find in the way of other programs. We'd all love to
jump to something better.

Default Expired Money Feature

I can't believe the internet update feature expires with a Money program. I
was actually quite upset when I received a message that the feature has
expired and is disabled in my program.

I am seriously considering a different program. If Microsoft wants to
increase sales of Money, then it should be creative and innovative enough to
add sufficient features to attract sales, not disable features of programs
that someone has already purchased.
