i did not install Money Plus to the default location.

When I installed Money Plus - in the window where I accepted the
licensing agreement - there was a button to click on the left to
change the install location. But I just ran the install again and the
button is gone, but that is probably because I have not uninstalled
Money Plus and only ran the installer to remind myself of where I saw
the option to change the install location.

Dick covered what is different between Money 2006 and 2008 very well.

M07 hid Advanced Budget from new users--you can still get to it, but how is
rather of an Easter Egg. See http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=186 for the
spoiler.

You may want to check your Customize cash flow settings first. If the cash
flow isn't right after that, you may want to revisit things in your newly
recreated bills like any edited series and any series with n future
occurrences and any that are set to the wrong frequency. Until my pre-nuked
and post-nuked projections for, say, 90 days out matched, I didn't decide I
was done with the post-nuke recovery.

Dick,

By 'real budget tool' do you refer to the Advanced Budget or Essential
Budget? I assume the former but wanted to get more information on this.

I have been struggling with recreating my budget since I nuked the bills.
I'm very happy with the performance of Money since nuking the bills but the
cash flow is not acting right yet. I am improving it working on the budget
but it is slow going.

IIRC: M07 added "nuke the bills" and the latest attempt at a budget feature,
the "Saving and Spending Budget". It also tried to hide the real budget
tool.

M+ adds background banking for non-"Third Party" accounts, a transaction
field to link a transaction to an external file reference, "Money Insights"
which is the old Money Express SysTray goodie revisited, and online
activation and expiration date management for all copies with a single
installable for all distribution methods. It also incorporates some minor
bug fixes.

I thought M+ did offer an option as to where to install it. (Though you had
to look carefully along the way to find it.)

Money backups are generally somewhat less reliable than just having copies
of your actual Money data file.

Default list of 08?

Am trying to find a list of what is different between Money 2006 and 2008?
Have searched the web, but only find differences in the various version of
Money 2008. Anyone know where I can find them?

Also, I use 2006, but not as extensively as I plan to do so with 2008 so I
am thinking my upgrade if I go that route should be fine, correct? Is there
anything I should be warned about prior to upgrading to 08? Right now, I
have both 08 and 06 on my machine although even though I started to open 08,
I didn't allow it to do any of the conversion or anything like that as of
yet. Thought I should try to find a little bit more out before doing so. Any
other suggestions and ideas for this?

I do plan on having a backup of my 06 money database files just in case
something goes wrong, but is there anything else I should add to that? I
didn't really have very much customization if any at all.

I also noticed that I didn't get any options when installing 08 as in
install location, etc.... Is there a reason for this or is there a way to
redo this so I have some control of things? I do plan on having it on my 'C'
drive, but normally when installing applications, I like to know what all it
is doing and where it is putting stuff just in case I need to change it or
whatever and also for the backup purposes I use and do of various files and
such. Any ideas?

I have read all of the other post I could find regarding '08 and upgrading
and such and thought maybe my questions warranted another post. Thanks much
for any ideas, etc... you can provide!
