Yes, bought a new version online by following the link offered when I
last opened M 2004. At that point, online services had just expired
under M 2004. The M 2008 installation recommended removing M 2004 so I
did this. M 2008 works fine with the exception of not allowing access
to online services. I have a prior note in this thread w/ a little
more detail. thanks -

HTH,

"paid for and installed an update"
What do you mean by that ? You bought a new version online ?
Then you no longer have M2004 ?
Or you bought m2008 and it didn't install ?
Please explain.

Have not got to that stage of updating yet. I will yell if that happens.

Yes - but am I the only one who has paid for and installed an update
only to find that Money still thinks, erroneously, that "online
services have expired"?

You M2004 has exceeded its Online Service period. Online services are no
longer supported for that product. See your EULA.

Your options are to not use Online Services, upgrade to Money 2008, switch
to a different money manager, or if you have a bent towards a little hack,
see the thread titled "Money 2004 Gotcha."

Hmm -

Upon getting the "expires" message in Money 2004, I upgraded to 2008.
I imported my old file into Money 2008, but am still told "Online
services have expired" on the "Review update results" screen. Then,
when I click on a particular account on that screen, I am told that my
version "of Money is currently activated. You will have access to
online services until..."

any thoughts? thanks -

Default money 2004--stock prices won't update

when in my portfolio under common tasks the update prices tab now only gives
me the option to update manually. when i click on the internet updates tab
on the bottom of the screen and follow the customize updates link to
background updates manager all boxes are checked except quotes, news and
exchange rates. it will not allow me to click that box unless i select
"select all' or 'restore defaults'. when i close the box and open it again
the selection is unchecked.

how can i get the program to update my portfolio stock prices automatically?

thanks for the help
