Don't be concerned. Expect it to compact on its own after a few
times. You could probably get it to come down sooner with the
File-> RepairMoneyFile-> QuickFileRepair if you like.

Okay...so I did the StandardFileRepair Level 2, and my Money file went from
24 MB to 44 MB. Is this normal? Should I be concerned?

I would do File-> RepairMoneyFile-> StandardFileRepair level 2 to make
a repaired version of your file. That is the same as running
salv.exe.

Note that File-> RepairMoneyFile-> QuickFileRepair is like using
"msmoney.exe -s".

anyway.

I do not respond to any emails that I have not specifically asked for.

Default Money 2005 frequent salvages needed

All,

I am running Money 2005 (version 14.0.125.1105) under Vista Ultimate and
have recently started to get the "transaction cannot be entered" messages.
Running "msmoney.exe -s" to salvage / repair the file seems to work just
fine, but I'm getting concerned as to why this is recurring. It doesn't
happen every time I start Money, but I've had to repair 3-4 times over the
last week. Any ideas?

Since my version is a few years old at this point, I'm curious if the new
Money Plus provides any more stability or data integrity features than 2005?
I backup my ".mny" file frequently, but would obviously like to preempt any
catastrophic corruption.

Thanks,

-Gary
