It's your choice of "what to display". I went thru that too: it's their
terminology.
Edit your column settings:
There is "realized Gain", which is cumulative. Remove that from display
'Price Appreciation' is what you want to display. That is for the current
shares.

What is the trick to have the software do a simple market value - Market
cost to equal gain? I have bought and sold a stock and I thinkl the
software is keeping track of past investments. For example, lets sat my
current stock market value say is $1000 and cost is $800. My gain comes out
to be something like $2474. Anyone have a solution.? I hate this.
