"Microsoft Money has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience."

That's the crash message...and here are some more details:

AppName: msmoney.exe AppVer: 17.0.0.724 ModName: ntdll.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180 Offset: 00001010

As for opening the sample.mny file from My Documents? That does not work. I
get the same error.

Crashes? What do you mean by that? Is there an error message?

Try copying Sample.mny from your
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money Plus" folder to your MyDocuments
folder. Start Money by right-clicking that file with WindowsExplorer
and choosing Open. Does that open OK?

I'm running Windows XP SP2 and I installed Money Plus Deluxe (2008).
Everything installed fine and when I launch it crashes. I performed all the
problem/solutions from the MS support site and I've also tried the DEP
solution. Nothing seems to work. Unfortunatly I purchased the product.
Also, it uninstalled my Money 2005. I'm not a happy camper right now. Can
anyone help?

It may be DEP. It might not. Let us know.

See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/875352 DEP execute disable and
select "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services
only" in the first step 3.

Default Money Plus crash on startup

Hi. Has anyone run across this? Money 2007 works fine on this machine.
I successfully installed Money Plus Premium on my machine (a decent
homegrown unit based on the P35 mobo and a 3.06 Core 2 Duo processor
running Vista Premium 32bit). When I try to start it, I get this, and
reboots don't help. Any ideas?
