I pre-ordered the retail version (CD) from Amazon.com and, as of today, is
still listed as being released/shipped on 8/27/07.

Do you have a CD or DVD burner? The downloaded file can be saved to a
disc -- has worked great for me...

Well, I'm a ten year user, and like you I've always purchased the retail CD,
for the very reasons you state. I do syncing for all my accounts, bank, CC
and investments, and send almost all bill payments this way also. The
complicating factor for me is Costco won't have the retail CD in stores until
well after the online services expire (Sept 1) for the version I'm currently
using.

If you do find it next week, please report back here and tell us where you
found it. I'd like to know.

Ben/Cal I'll search for the issues I seem to recall...

As a 12 year Money purchaser I have to laugh at all these "issues". I
have bought Money each year at Costco for at least the past five
years. I WILL buy it again this year. I expect to see it next week,
but if not then, it will be there in September. If not then, it will
be at Best Buy or Staples or Office Max or Circut City or.....? Yes,
it will be there for me to buy. I expect to pay my usual price of $25
or $30 after rebate, but if it costs $40 this year I will still buy
it. I DO want that disk. That is very important to me in case my
computer goes poof. No download for me. AND, I don't have to worry
about not being able to download my stock quotes either, at least for
another year. Bottom line, the product is great for me. I input my
credit card and bank data manually. I use most of the features and
believe me, with 12 years of detail data and not too much crap dealing
with all the download problems, I'm a happy user. Microsoft Money
Plus. Bring it out. I'm waiting! Steve

I was wondering if it might not have been people in the UK or Canada
who downloaded the trial, and then could not buy Money 2007 outside
of the US.

Within the US, while I would not expect a problem, uninstalling the
trial and then installing the retail disk might have been needed for
some.

2007 Worked fine when I converted from trial to release -- maybe you should
access the group via Google Groups and see if you can't provide a link to
the issues you're mentioning?

That doesn't sound like anything I remember reading about.

That's an option for me. But I'm a little concerned that last years reported
problems of going from a trial to a paid version (that was in 07, right?). I
seem to recall issues that came up long after the switch to the paid version
was done, and then drastic measures (export an entire account, then re-import
it again) to clean things up. If any risk of that happening, I'll want to
avoid it.

You could start with the 60-day free trial download.

Default Has anyone purchased a retail version of Money Plus (2008) yet?

Following through on the title, from a B&M store? And if yes, which store?

Since spotting Money Plus Premium 2008 on Costco's website at the very nice
price of $40, I thought I'd wait until the release date and pick it up at a
Costco B&M warehouse.

So last week at a local Costco, I asked if it will be available in store, and
they said no. Called a different warehouse today, and got the same answer,
but with a more detailed explanation. They said "it's not showing in our
inventory system for the store". The further explanation was an item shows up
in their inventory sys at least four weeks before it is carried in stock at
the store.

So buying this at a local warehouse is not an option in the next term. And my
current M04's online services will expire a few days after the Aug 27 release
date.
