| You are right, the date on the Money box says 2004, but I realised later that it is the 2005 version - thank you Microsoft for such clear labeling! And about my older version, recently having read so much in forums about Money, I am beginning to doubt that it was a Canadian version. It did not have online function for canadian banks (only US banks which I did not use). And it came preinstalled with Microsoft Works. So I'm guessing it was Money 2003 US version. But as I said my notebook has crashed so I only have the backup version saved on an external drive. What course of action do you suggest? It has 4 years of my financial records which I don't want to give up on easily. Thanks for your help, Saman. | Money is very heavily localised so you cannot easily read a Canada file into a UK one. There is a way of doing it but it is painful and you lose a lot of data. Why on earth did you buy UK M2004? The latest UK version is M2005 and has been around for > 3 years. See http://money.mvps.org/faq/article/28.aspx re migrating between regions. -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money For UK tips & fixes see http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny. I do not respond to any emails that I have not specifically asked for. | I was using a preinstalled version of MM 2003 on my notebook with Windows XP bought in Canada. It crashed but I have bought a new one with Windows Vista. I've also bought Microsft Money 2004 from amazon.co.uk but am yet to install it. I want to know if my back up version of MM2003 will run on MM2004. I read somewhere that I should install the trial version of MM2007 which will run my MM2003 file and after it changes to a MM2007 file I should use my MM2004 to open it. Please help! Thanks. Saman. |
