| I have improved my forecasted cash flow by a few tweaks - it's actually reassuring sometimes to know that you're covering budgeted as well as actual pending bills ![]() But it sure is great to still see the register feedback each time I open the virtual checkbook. It's an outstanding feature. | They got rid of the register feedback in M04 or M05 because, I'm guessing, it was a performance killer. I'm not sure what issue you see with the Forecast Cash Flow page--you may need to go into its customize settings and fiddle. I find I get EXCELLENT data given that my scheduled items are good. And future cash flow is my prime tactical financial management tool so I watch it very closely. I don't let it use trended or budgeted expenses. You can put a mini-version of the Forecast Cash Flow in a window on the home page in recent versions as well. Again, you may need to spend some effort getting the data in that more to your liking. | I post here about once a year whenever the newest version of Money comes out... I'm still running Money 2001. The virtual checkbook register in Money 2001 contains a very accurate mini-cashflow window which is crucial and has kept me from overdrawing my account on many occasions. (The conventional cashflow tool, however, is flawed as many have commented on previously). The trial version of MoneyPlus doesn't display this kind of running-cashflow tally in the checkbook. I doublechecked to make sure i'm using the "advanced" view of the checkbook register and I am. I can't explain why the mini-cashflow tool is more accurate -- it just is. I think it disregards budgetary projections and just takes into account the true, upcoming transactions I have pending. It's great to see it alongside the register without having to click elsewhere. I recognize that MoneyPlus has this "insights" tool -- that sits in the toolbar, quietly consuming system resources... but it didn't show up in my toolbar (couldn't figure out how to "turn it on." If MoneyPlus had the same cashflow view as in my ancient creaking version of Money, I would gladly upgrade. Until then, I"ll keep nursing Money 2001 along. I have no need for any online tools and have no interest in linking a microsoft passport ID to my personal financial information... |
