Download the trial and poke around for yourself. If you don't> hoping for. uninstall the previous version and make a copy of your current MNY file before letting 08 open it, there's virtually no risk. You can easily run them in parallel while you determine if the upgrade is worth it to you. The only real negative is that the installation process points default file types to the new program.
