What other site? They are probably shamelessly scraping Usenet and selling
it as their own with their ads.

Hi, I just completed activation of Money Plus. I had the same problem as
noted in the tread. I got tried the following that I got from another site
and it worked.

"This was answered earlier. It has to do with large fonts. You likely changed
to these at some point.

You can do one of two things:

1. Set the fonts to normal size until after you activate.
2. Copy & paste the whole activation key (including the dashes) that was
given to you into the first (or any) box.

That should do the trick.

John G."

PS. I set the font to superscript.

To be more clear - changing the screen font size to normal (didn't
even realize it was on large - might be a laptop thing!) fixed it.

That fixed it!!

Thank you Mark - was on hold with Microsoft for over 45 minutes as
well as email tech support and was unable to solve this - but that
fixed it!

Thank you again!

Nope. Does not work. My font size is on "normal" and I tried copying
and pasting. All it does is "ding" and cut off the 5th character that
doesn't fit into the entry box.

I called Microsoft support - they said they were opening a help ticket
on the issue. If you are having the same problem - please call or
email Microsoft support so that they realize this is an issue for
everyone who is trying to activate it!

I really think they are either giving out the wrong keys or there is a
glitch in the program.

I tried installing it on my desktop computer upstairs as well
(previously I was trying on my laptop)- and had the same issue with
the activation key not "fitting" into the boxes.

I've never had a problem activating software before/keys not fitting
into respective boxes. I don't' think this is a screen/font/resolution
issue.

Thanks for the idea though.

I am glad to see I'm not the only one. I just downloaded it at 12:34 this
afternoon and have the same problem. I uninstalled and re-installed and
still have the same problem.
If you get an answer please let us all know.

This is a problem if you have Windows set to use "Large Fonts" (has
their font display size set to some larger DPI setting)

Workarounds (either one should resolve it):

o Temporarily change back to Windows' "default" font size

o Copy the entire key (dashes included) and Paste it into one of
the fields (any of them) in the Activation dialog

Do you have Windows set to use Large Fonts (some font size other than the
default size)?
Most likely you do.

Workarounds:
- Temporarily change Windows back to using the default font size
-or-
- Copy the entire Activation Key (including the dashes) and then Paste it
into any field of the Activation dialog

Default Problems Activating Microsoft Plus

Anyone else having problems actually activating microsoft plus?

I received the confirmation email with my key for the software. After
installing the software I was prompted to activate the program within
60 days. I said "yes" to activate the product.

I got the typical activation screen with boxes to type my serial
number in... but guess what... the serial number I was sent in the
confirmation email DOES NOT FIT into the boxes Microsoft Money Plus
provides for you to enter the serial number in.

The serial number I was provided in the email is in the format of: XX-
XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX. (5 characters for each section)

But the boxes provided on the activation screen in the Microsoft Money
Plus software will only accept a key in the format of:

XX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

(Allows 4 characters for each section - NOT FIVE!!)

So I can't activate my software! It just "dings" at me when I try to
enter more then 4 characters into each section! I've never had a
problem activating software in my life... so either they are sending
out incorrect serial numbers (too big!!) or the software has a glitch
with the activation fields!

Am I the only one having this problem??
