| As far as #1, turn off MSN and then try updating. -- Neil <nomail[at]mybox.net> wrote in message news:ci9kb3dp1vc7vsgd5ntl8p7r34h04ek905[at]4ax.com... - quote - > I downloaded the trial version of Money Plus (2008) over Money 2005. > It seemed to install okay...but now two major problems: > 1. | It's only one background program, actually. Oh, and M07 was a barely enhanced version of M06, which was same of M05. M05 was not a lot of changes, but all of them bad, to M04. M04 was not much added to M03 which was the same to M02. M02 was the last version that rewrote a whole area of the program--Bills. The last large scale investment in the application Money-as opposed to server-side MSN Money stuff--was M98. That version redid all of the underpinnings to the IE/MSISAM foundation that exists to this day. | I haven't tried it out yet, but it looks like it's just an enhanced version of Money 2007. It also looks like it adds a bunch of background programs (budget alerts, bill alerts, etc). Personally, I hate a bunch of programs running in the background. I think you're smart to wait -- will be doing the same... | re #2, you can use Task Manager to find the running MS Money process and kill it via there without rebooting. That's all that error msg means. As to #1, good luck. I'm waiting a few months to see the user feedback in Amazon, Cnet, etc on Money Plus to see if it's worth upgrading to. | I downloaded the trial version of Money Plus (2008) over Money 2005. It seemed to install okay...but now two major problems: 1. Account update hangs on "Update in Progress." No way to rid it. Nothing has been updated since installing (earlier today). 2. After shutting down Money Plus, I try to restarting it, I get an error message "Money already running." No way to clear this error message but to reboot my system. Any thoughts...similar problems...fixes? Thanks. |
