Thanks for the quick response. The account is set up as a Credit Card. The
bank is Navy Federal Credit Union. When I download the OFX file directly, it
enters all of the information correctly. But I believe you have helped me to
identify the problem. I'm downloading the information through MSN
MoneyCentral, so, it's probably a glitch with the information scrape through
them. I think I'll contact them and see if they can be as helpful as you
have been.

What kind of downloads are you doing from the problem account? You
might want to identify the credit card, in case others have
experience with it.

Direct OFX downloads come from servers that the financial
institution (FI) provides. It is a well defined protocol. The FI
is providing the data and is trying to be helpful. This would be
the best. In some cases you need to have the FI support people set
up your account for this access, and you may have a different ID and
password for the OFX access. In other cases the login ID and
password are the same as for accessing the FI's web site. It is
identifiable in http://www.microsoft.com/money/bankonline.aspx by
the presence of the word "Direct" without the term "third party".


With Web access you download an OFX or QIF file from the FI's web
server. You may do that with the browser within Microsoft Money,
or you may use a separate browser. The file may be passed directly
to Money by Windows, or your can save the file to disk and
File-> Import within Money.

Third Party download looks at the FI's website and gets the data
from the web pages. It feeds the data to MSN Money (MoneyCentral)
and Microsoft Money gets the data from there. The bank is not
necessarily even aware of this, and is usually not helpful if things
are not working right. If any of your FIs are set up to use this
method, you will need a LiveID/Passport on your file.

When I download information from my credit card holder (I also have a
savings and checking account with them) the CREDITS are showing up as
CHARGES. I'm able to match them to my own entries, but after I do, they
change my entry to a CHARGE. I then have to change them back to a CREDIT.
The amounts are correct, just annoying to have to change them to CREDIT.
