My Savings account populates the proper account in MS Money 2005. My Checking account, however only makes a new copy of the account and does not populate my established MS Money account called "new checking" how can I force this account to populate the established file? Direct OFX downloads come from servers that the financial institution (FI) provides. It is a well defined protocol. The FI is providing the data and is trying to be helpful. This would be the best. In some cases you need to have the FI support people set up your account for this access, and you may have a different ID and password for the OFX access. In other cases the login ID and password are the same as for accessing the FI's web site. It is identifiable in http://www.microsoft.com/money/bankonline.aspx by the presence of the word "Direct" without the term "third party". With Web access you download an OFX or QIF file from the FI's web server. You may do that with the browser within Microsoft Money, or you may use a separate browser. The file may be passed directly to Money by Windows, or your can save the file to disk and File-> Import within Money. Third Party download looks at the FI's website and gets the data from the web pages. It feeds the data to MSN Money (MoneyCentral) and Microsoft Money gets the data from there. The bank is not necessarily even aware of this, and is usually not helpful if things are not working right. This kind of access is trickier to troubleshoot, and beyond checking for more info in the If any of your FIs are set up to use this method, you will need a LiveID/Passport on your file. Which applies to your bank? |

| Just recently whenever I have downaload statement information from my bank it now puts all three account statements into one of the accounts only. Prior to this the download process would identify properly what transaction should go to what account and do it correctly. I've read many of the knoledge base articles as well as the forum threads about similiar problems but have not yet been able to correct the problem. Any suggestions. One bank with 3 seperate accounts. Banks web site shows transactations occuring in proper accounts. When Money downloads the tranactations in now places them all in one account. For the last couple of years downloading has worked with now problems. Bank says it's a Money problem not theirs. |
