| I couldn't agree more with both of you. But until some blessed future state where Nuke the Bills is unnecessary, it's the best they've seen fit to give us. I had over 100 bills something like half of which involved splits, so I certainly understand the magnitude of the undertaking. I found it worthwhile--annoyed the whole time that this was the best solution on offer--but YMMV. | I've been having this same problem myself and have been blaming it on my computer. My poor computer! This freezing thing is more annoying than anything else in M07! It's bad enough that I can't just highlight a bunch of bills in my Scheduled Payments screen to see what my acct balance will be after I pay them all, but every single time I try to do something in M07, the thing freezes. I hear exactly where you're coming from! And for what it's worth, the "Nuke the Bills" function is STUPID! What in the world did MS do to the Money program that would make us have to "Nuke the Bills" just to get the program to run smoothly???? I should have to do this exactly why??? The mere premise of the reason behind it is ridiculous, in my opinion. I have too many bills scheduled on too many different accounts to make this worth my while. I am so tempted to just go back to good old reliable M04! And now they're bugging us about "upgrading" to M07 Plus or whatever it is - for only $19.99.....don't get caught, folks. That's $19.99 after they give us $10 off and after we pay them $39.99 and have to mail in a form for a $20 rebate! Want to bet all these issues we've been complaining about are being taken care of in this "Upgrade"? Sorry, MS, but you're not getting my money that easily! -- JUDYTANK "J Leatherwood" wrote: - quote - > I have been a Microsoft Money user for over 2 years. | The "fix" is to do the "Nuke the Bills" recommendation. My understanding is that every time you change the bills structure i.e. add a new payee or change the frequency of payment, then a new bill schema is created. When handling bills Money has to go through all the bill schemas that exist and calculate the results of each schema - hence the "hangs". As "Nuke the Bills" wipes all previous schemas this explains the speed up (until you have made numerous changes as you must over time). The solution would be a complete redesign/rebuild of Money and they are just not going to be given the budget to do that - I suspect the designers know exactly what to do but as it only affects a few users and although there are a significant number of posters here I would imagine that the silent majority rules! -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money For UK tips & fixes see http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny. | I have been a Microsoft Money user for over 2 years. Shortly after upgrading from Money 2006 to Money 2007, I began experiencing freezes (CPU utilization at 100% and Money UI unresponsive) when matching/unmatching downloaded transactions. I successfully used the "Remove all Bills data" feature to restore my Money file to normal operation. Now, approximately 6 months later and shortly following an online banking upgrade that required me to reconfigure and merge my accounts, I'm experiencing the same freezing upon matching/unmatching downloaded transactions. And like last time, the inevitable solution will be to purge my Bills data and manually re-enter it. There are numerous threads on this newsgroup explaining similar application freezes and the same old suggestion is usually offered up. Can the Money project team at Microsoft seriously believe they have solved this issue by exposing the "Remove all Bills data" option and expecting users to be complacent in manually re-entering their data? Please address the underlying issue(s) that cause(s) the error condition! ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes.
