I finally got around to loading the Money Plus trial.

Although the Monthly Reports section still lists only the last 12 monthly
reports, if I load the "Spending by Category" report, I can click on "View
Reports" > "Monthly Reports" under "Other tasks" in the left sidebar, and
gain access to the last 24 months of monthly reports.

If I remember correctly, this is what I had done in Money 2005-2007.

Have you gone thru the regular reports? I suspect you could
customize one, and arrive at something that is actually more useful
for your purpose.

Thanks for the tip. I'm looking for it but have not yet found it.

It may seem odd to want to go back more than 1 year on the monthly reports
(which is I guess why microsoft eliminated this option) but for some
expenses and income I don't have the results in less than a year's time.
One that comes to mind is a life insurance fund I pay in to. The annual
report they provide comes to me in February for the previous calendar year.
So, a couple months are more than 1 year old.

Hi Mark,

This "feature" was added with Money 2005.

I'm still using Money 2004, so I can't check exactly which report this is,
but if you look at some of your other reports (Income/Expenses, What I
Have/Owe, Investments, etc) one of them will have a "Monthly Reports" link
in the sidebar. If you click this link, a menu will pop up, giving you
access to the last 24 months of monthly reports.

Although only a partial workaround, that may be enough for ppl that need
access to the entire prior year.

Actually I think it was before M07. Why was it eliminated? One theory is
that it avoids support calls about how to eliminate old reports that the
caller insists simply must be taking up precious disk space. One workaround
may be playing with system time temporarily. Haven't tried it, though.

Default Money 2007 - monthly reports

I just noticed that Money 2007 will only allow viewing of the last 12 months
of Monthly reports. In Money 2003 one could select a monthly report as far
back as there was information in the file. When did they eliminate that,
starting in 2007?
