Default Re: M03 - monthly report, performance of investments

I figured this was some goofy thing that might not be able to be corrected.

The investment account that is closed has no shares in it. It was closed
August 2006. Therefore I don't know why it is even considered in the
monthly report.

I noticed if I click on the "more" button I get a tabular view of all the
investment accounts and this one is included. There were three investments
in this account untill all the shares were sold and the money transferred to
different IRA account. The tabular view reports a value on this account as
of July 30, 2006 (when it was still open) and then also reports the value as
of July 31, 2007 as all zeroes. But, it shows a realized gain of various
dollar amounts and also reports a % rate of return and the annual rate of
return is gigantic.

I guess this is a bug that Microsoft cannot fix. Seems like the only thing
that will correct this is sometime in September when this investment account
will have been closed 1+ years for a monthly report, perhaps it will
completely go away.

I had another 401K account which was closed when my previous emplyor
transferred our 401K's to a different brokerage firm and everything went
smoothy. I don't remember this problem happening.

FWIW, I see goofy stuff like this related to closed investment
accounts/positions long since gone all of the time in the MRs. Never figured
out a solution.

Yes, I did that.

Yes, this is what the account says.

Since that investment account is closed, should I delete the investments
which were associated with that account? They are still updating. If I do
delete the investments, will it affect the historical buys and sells of
those investments, in the closed account?

Make sure In Account List make sure
SortAccountListBy-> HideClosedAccounts is unticked.

I would go to the AccountSummary for that account. It should say
"This account currently has no investments in it."

Just for funm I loaded up Money 2007 today and found the same thing happened
in Money 2007, with the closed account out performing all the others. Any
ideas where to look for the problem?

Default M03 - monthly report, performance of investments

When I run the monthly report, Money reports:

"this year, investments in your XYZ account have outperformed all other
invetments...."

The problem is, the account referred to by Momey was closed in 2006 and has
a zero balance.

Would anyone have an idea what is causing this?
