Reboot didn't help, but tonight it worked. ( Fidelity hiccups earlier ? )
Connected ( with new online services info in there) and it showed correct
balances in download . All set in M2004.
Thanks
Will edit m2006 info on other pc.

I don't think that would be it.

Good idea. You could also try giving the new accounts slightly
different names.

Cal,

Bump in the road here ...
In M2004 I went in turned off online services, connected to Fidelity with
my new account info and it download the account names ( old and new) I
went thru choosing SKIP for the old ones and assigning my old names to the
new ones. Looks good. BUT problem downloading. At first it showe ' no
internet connection' ( broadband) so I went into IE settings and clicked
"autodetect LAN settings". I closed/reopened the file - it then did try -
and failed with "please contact the company message ...."" error returned
from Fidelity. back to this in a minute....

In M2006 I did nothing but connect/download to get my 'old' statements ( I
haven't messed with it at all up to this point) and it downloaded my new /
old accounts too - shows 3 new accounts , SO....

Might it be that since 3 years is up for Fidelity's support ,M2004 online
services WON'T now work ( in which case I'll go back to my backup).

I'll reboot, and try a bit later also. Will update if it then works.

Thanks,
Bobb

Ahah ! Ok,
Opened the TransactionsToRead and for my monthly interest/div
reinvestments I said OK, and for the Sell/Transfers I chose "VOID
TRANSACTION" ( this PC has M2004 on it). Worked Great ! In the register
amount column it shows VOID. Perfect. So I can SEE what happened and not
have to actually delete each and every one ( a lot of them).
Thanks once again Cal.

You could delete the statement by right-clicking TransactionsToRead
from the AccountList, but I would not recommend that. You will just
re-download those later. Instead you want them Void for now. The
easiest way is to process the transactions. You are presented with
three buttons during processing. There is Postpone, there is the one
you press to accept the transaction, and there is the one you want
to press in this unusual situation. The name on that button differs
with the version. In recent versions, it is "No".

Alternatively you could accept and then Void the transactions in the
register(s). Having the voided transactions will inhibit them from
being re-downloaded.

Cal,

I DOWNLOADED the info, but not 'accepted' each yet. I open the statement -
saw them and chose 'Postpone', so when I open next time - still shows new
info to be accepted. I didn't know how to "delete the statement " or than
to accept then delete each of the 20 transactions. Can I 'undo the
download' so they don't show as outstanding ?

OK, so conceptually I'll download everything - new and old then just
delete 'those transactions' leaving me all the old info and new account
numbers.

Thanks once again.

Keep extra backups in case you want to undo something.

If you have yet to accept the sold, sold, sold, sold, sold ....
TRANSFERRED transactions, delete the statement. If too late for
that, restore the backup from just before you got that statement.

Disable the account for online access. Change the account numbers.
Set up the account for online access using the new credentials.

When you download first from the new account, expect to download
Buy/AddShares for each position. Instead select No/Void. If you make
a mistake, go back and Void the unwanted transaction.

Then go thru the register and make any corrections.

You could go back thru the registers in a few months and delete the
Void transactions.

Default Account numbers change - easiest way to handle ?

My financial mail stolen from mailbox - found in woods. I contacted
broker/bank etc and now have new account numbers.
I just connected to Fidelity to download statement.Money still has my old
account info so -
Money statement shows sold,sold,sold,sold,sold .... TRANSFERRED ....
I called Fidelity to see how to handle it - they said to create new
account ........ losing my history. No I'm not gonna do that ! What's the
easiest way to do this ?
To accept the download, then delete the sell, sell, sell, transfer download
info and just change my account numbers ?

Thanks
Bobb
