I do this also, removing the data from my current file once I've created
an annual file for that year. The warnings I see in this newsgroup that
basically say "never archive money data" have convinced me that I could
not rely on this mechanism with Money. It's one of the main reasons that I
haven't (yet) dropped Quicken. But that of course doesn't address your
question :-)

Question: every new version of Quicken, to you go back and open each of
your annual files, and let Quicken convert them? If not, I'd do that 1st.

And once done, make a backup of the file, run a validate, and then a
supervalidate on the file. Then try the conversion.

Cheers,
Steve

Default Problem Converting Quicken 03 to Money 04

I've been storing all my Quicken 03 files by Calender
year in Quicken, I was able to convert all files from
2002 to 1999 to Money 04. I attempted to convert my 1998
File that was converted into Quicken 03 to Money 04 and
Money was unable to Convert it, the message I received
was:

Your Quicken file could not be converted.

Money could not convert your Quicken file. You might have
run out of disk space or system memory.

Try closing other programs and making sure the disk you
are copying your file to has enough space. Then try
converting the file again.

The Files are being stored in C derive "My Documents"
in a folder dedicated to just money 04 files. I tried to
convert it into just the "My Documents" Folder and still
receive the same error. Any Suggestions??
