| I am having the same problem. Your link below is no longer active so I have no clue how to get my accounts updating again. I tried following the instructions provided by the pop-up screen but it never successfully updates. I got the "account already exists" error for awhile... now I can make it to the username and password screen, but it tries for a couple of minutes then tells me "accounts failed to update." What a headache... these "new and improved banking features" sure are nice. My accounts worked just fine previously and now they don't -- quite an upgrade. Get a clue Microsoft -- I'm about one more "failed to update" away from moving to Quicken. | Markem~ Cal Learner's reply addressed this problem by providing this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/889927/en-us I came here looking for this very issue myself, and by adding the account again and merging (as the article indicates), it seems to be doing the trick. Hope this helps. "markem" wrote: - quote - > I am also having trouble. | I am also having trouble. When I try to etablish the online updates for the new account, I receive error messages that Money is unable to connect with the bank. I know it's not a password issue. I've called my bank and everything is setup ok on that end. I'm curious if anyone else is having problems like this, and how there were corrected. thanks! Try that again. Harris Bank -- Online Banking is listed.> of July - suddenly when I started Money 2005 - it said some changes have been > made to online services I should follow steps in the following link: > http://www.microsoft.com/Money/Onlin...s/default.mspx > Basically It asked me to backup, stop online services and add the accounts > manually again and finally merge them to old accounts. > I faced a few types of issues: > 1. See if http://support.microsoft.com/kb/889927/en-us helps.> problem before this update. Probably not. I expect that part to work pretty much the same.> suggestions which of the following option I can proceed with: > 1. Upgrade to Microsoft 2007 - Will this solve my problem. | I have been using Money since 1998 (constantly upgrading). Around beginning of July - suddenly when I started Money 2005 - it said some changes have been made to online services I should follow steps in the following link: http://www.microsoft.com/Money/Onlin...s/default.mspx Basically It asked me to backup, stop online services and add the accounts manually again and finally merge them to old accounts. I faced a few types of issues: 1. When I added the accounts - I notice one of my bank is no longer listed - Harris Bank. - So it appears I have to manually maintain this account (either downloading statements and entering them) 2. Me and my wife both have separate accounts in a credit union. I never had problem before this update. But I now when I try to add these accounts - Money first complains - Account already exists - you should Merge and after showing a progress bar for a while - it complains "Account temporarily unavailable". This happens all the time. In Money support website - the reason for such an error seems to be "multiple accounts" 3. Of the 20 accounts I have - only I am able to connect online and the rest are in limbo now. Any assistance would be appreciated. If no solution is available, I invite suggestions which of the following option I can proceed with: 1. Upgrade to Microsoft 2007 - Will this solve my problem. Especially (1) and (2)? 2. Switch to Quicken? 3. My wife has Money 2006 in her laptop - but that is a OEM copy (came with the system). Can I try that on my system (by downloading trial version 2006 and entering the OEM code) - may be not. Thanks |
