My Money data file is in my Documents folder, not Program Files. Good
suggestion though.

Before I reported the issue, I checked for the latest service pack and all.
It is build 1303. It wasn't entirely easy to find what should be the
current release. It'd be really great if there were a "Check for Updates"
option, but I suppose that goes against the whole MS automatic update thing
(which, by the way, is enabled on my machine).

I'm not entirely confident of the outcome yet, but I believe the bill
removal helps. Will update once I've used it long enough to say for sure.
Of course, I still have to recreate the bills. Not real happy about the
work to do that, but that's life. If there's a way to export clean bill
setup data and reimport, someone please let me know.

Also, as an experiment, try making a copy of your file under another
name. Open that file, and try the File-> Repair-> RemoveAllBillsData.
If you find that makes a big difference, there are ways to assist
re-creating the bills if you do it again. The first time with the
test copy can just be a test to see if the speedup is worth doing it
for real.

I've had similar trouble since upgrading to Money 2007 Premium from Money
2005 Deluxe. Money hangs when I go to unmatch a downloaded transaction. It
occurs when I click OK on the window. Check Task Manager and it's consuming
85+ percent of the CPU. I've let it sit for 10 minutes just to see if maybe
it was just running poorly on Vista. Interestingly, I don't see it doing a
lot of file I-O when the CPU utilization is high. Kill and restart Money
and the transaction has been unmatched. If it's file corruption, it seems
very odd that this would complete successfully.

I also upgraded to Vista Ultimate 32-bit at the same time, so I haven't been
entirely sure if the issue is Money 2007, Money 2007 on Vista, or Vista.
Money is the only application I have that locks up with Vista.

MS told me the same thing. Do the file repair, blah, blah. No help.

I am also now seeing this when I attempt to balance an account.

My next option is to do like you--start from scratch with a new Money file.
I really hate to do this because it'll take a lot of time and I'll lose the
history. It sounds like it might not work.

Hope someone else has the answer or MS will acknowledge the issue and
correct it.

I am still having troubles with Money 2007 hanging up every time I have to
change a downloaded transaction to unmatch it or any time I have to get into
the scheduled bills. I have done the "remove bills data" and quick fix and
standard repairs and it will work okay for a little while but then start
doing it all over again. I need to be able to see which bills are scheduled
and coming up or what good does this program do me? I have even started all
over with a brand new money file because the Microsoft guy gave me this huge
list of things to do from the KB article:

just start over. Plus, doing these steps made my backup file size HUGE
before I even had all the accounts entered.

I am starting to HATE this money program. My new computer will just have
quicken, as far as I am concerned right now. I am so frustrated.

Has anyone learned anything that may help me with this problem?
