If you REALLY use the product to manage your personal finance, I believe you MUST have a hard copy of the program and obviously have your data file back-up. I BUY the new version every year at COSTCO because it is well worth the $25 to $40 each year for the benefits an up to date program gives. I enter all my bills and credit card information manually and download stock and fund data daily. I have very little problems after using the product now for 12 years. I have the advantage of having a financial background so I don't screw up the program by making wrong assumptions. Steve |

| I just picked up on this issue, primarily because it's affecting me using M04. Money 2008 will be released on Aug 27, 2007, but there are two years of prior releases of Money, 2004 and 2005, whose online services will expire on Sept 1, 2007, only 5 days later. That is per the table and details in this link: http://www.microsoft.com/money/fi/osp.mspx The details state "You will be able to use the Internet-based Services in Microsoft Money 2005 for a period of two (2) years from installation of the product or until September 1, 2007, whichever is earlier.". The Deluxe, Premium, Small Business editions of Money 2004 had 3 years of online services, so they expire on September 1, 2007, (or earlier) also. To keep online services working, users with either of those versions of Money should be prepared to run to Costco or Sams Club after the 27th, and before Sept 1, to get a copy of MP08. I could probably survive for a few days without being able to use online bill pay, but it would mess up my routine a lot, and would be especially awkward at the beginning of a month. Based on what we now know (prior comment on here about a 'late release' this year, etc), I'll guess the Money product team knew this, and still managed to squeeze the release date in before the prior versions online services expire. |

Just how long are they trying to make the name? the graphic image of the retail box on the Costco site leaves littleYes, I did notice that, and wasn't sure at first. But the similarity to doubt. Note also that the 'reviews' referenced on the Amazon site, near the very bottom, are for Money 2007. That had me doubting it at first. On a positive note for the Amazon site, under the Product Description section, there seems to be more information. Also noteworthy, the clickable image of the 'Money Plus Deluxe home page' in that section. I'm using M04, but that screen shot seems to be different from any 06/07 screens I've seen, someone correct this if I'm wrong here. The key point seems to be, search for "Money Plus 2008" and other sites come back with some info also. |

As is usual, the new Money only upgrade from N-2 versions of Quiken. It> versions of Quicken upto 2006. Note does not claim to read Quicken 2007. looks like the much-anticipated receipt tracker has arrived, as has a revived version of Money Express. No indication of PocketPC compatibility, so I guess that's still a nonstarter. Didn't someone mention a PocketPC version of the software that was (is?) Palm-only? Which software was that? I remember someone posting a link about "PocketPC compatibility" in the works ... David |
