| I also have been unable to get BoA updates since 8/20. I tried removing / re-adding online services, with no luck. I only have credit cards, which they say to use Bank of America (All except CA, WA, & ID) for, but it won't take my username & password, so i can't ever complete online setup ("The signin with your financial institution failed...") much suckage. The solution that BoA tried to sell me? "wait until the statement is closed and download the transactions then". mmmm. timely! |

| All this information seems good, but I still cannot connect to bank of america at all. Caveat... I only have a bank of america credit card account and am in California. Does any one have any other helpful suggestions for bofa cc accounts. I suspect everything so far is only about bank accounts. | You can download via Yodlee pretty much anywhere, CA, WA; or ID. B of A offers direct connect in CA but not WA. Direct Connect is better than Yodlee, as it also lets you integrate BillPay. | Are you (this thread) saying that even if you aren't a BOFA CA customer that you can select this option and get downloads through Yodlee? | It's a little misleading, as CA isn't listed 100% correctly. According to the list, CA uses Yodlee. Yes, it does, but it also links up directly to B of A for both transaction download and billpay. Once you sign up for the service, the instructions you receive tell you to select the 'all except CA, WA, & ID' option. The instructions are correct, as this works and gets the direct hook-up going -- but it doesn't make sense. There have been some very recent changes in the Bank of America statement download area: From http://www.microsoft.com/money/banko...e=BanksOnly#14 there are 3 choices now shown. Here is a bit of a translation/explanation: Bank of America (All except CA, WA, & ID) Explanation: Direct OFX for whole country; may require monthly fee or meet extra criteria. Bank of America (CA) Explanation: Yodlee usable for all except (WA & ID) Bank of America (WA & ID) Explanation: Yodlee for (WA & ID) only You might want to re-read other posts on this thread for some tips. |

| Like most technical support desks, B of A don't know what they are talking about. I have been synchronizing with B of A California for quite some time now. However, over the last week or so there have been problems. But now synchronization is working again. Try disabling online updates for the B of A account and then set it up again. That is what I had to do. Wachovia (or predecessors) for over 10 years. My experience is totally satisfactory. Direct online banking is not free with the cheapest accounts, but the threshold for getting it free isn't that high. With respect to banking services, per se, I have no opinion. They have lots of branches around here (Gainesville, FL) and lots of ATMs here and wherever I've traveled. That, and free direct online banking through Money, is all I really want. | Bank of America technical support is telling me that they don't have any automatic synchronization capability between their online banking and Microsoft Money. They support downloading a CSV file, but since this is for my parents, I'm sure it would never happen in a million years. They are far too computer challenged to do that, and it's a hassle anyway. I want the convenience of daily automatic updates that show new transactions. First, is the information I received correct, or is there actually a way to automatically synchronize? Second, if BOFA cannot do this, then the next question is which banks have the best automatic synchronization with Microsoft Money? This is for an account that is in California. -- Will |
