Quicken option, too. Unfortunately, data conversion looks like it's a real nightmare. I did stumble across this (http://lifehacker.com/ software/quicken/quicken-tip--how-to-import-your-microsoft-money-file- to-quicken-248973.php), which does offer a conversion tool and some advice. Looks daunting, nonetheless. -M62 |

| After sending a support request to Microsoft, I received a message from one of the support agents. She suggested turning off the online updates in the Tools/Settings section. I tried this option and was taken down a different path while setting up the online services but still ended up with the "Account setup temporarily..." error message. I've attached her suggestion. Maybe I'm missing something here and someone else will have more luck? Good luck! PS: Of course, when I tried to email her back (as she suggests in her message) with a detailed description of what I was getting...I got a "Message delivery failure"...what a joke! Support email: Hello XXXX, Thank you for contacting Microsoft Money Online Support Services. My name is Ann MacDonald, and I'll be assisting you with your case today. To give the most accurate support possible, I would like to give a brief summary of the problem as I understand it. Resetting up the accounts in Money and getting account setup unavailable. If I have misunderstood the issue, please don't hesitate to let me know. I apologize things are not working as they should and I will certainly help you with the issue in any possible way I can. To help resolve the issue follow the steps below: 1: go to tools and settings 2: click on access your Money data on the web and go through turing it off and check the box to remove you information form MSN after they are turned off go through and turn back on 3: then go through and try setting up the accounts Email me and let me know if this resolves the issue. If anything is unclear, please feel free to let me know. I look forward to your reply. Thank you for choosing Microsoft. | I have exactly the same problem. Went onto the 'Chat support' option with MS tech...after 20mins of 'can I call you Bart' delay tactics, the conclusion reached was my bank needs to give me a 'special' user name and password. I contacted the banks in question, who of course had NO IDEA what MS were talking about. I too knew that when MS said they were updating servers that this would spell disaster...it's not like my banks are little tiny regional ones, this is Bank of America! I'm now left wondering what Quicken has to offer? "Dan" wrote: - quote - > I get the same thing too. | I get the same thing too. The whole thing is freakin broken, and I knew this would happen when I saw they were planning on doing the update. Does it seem to anyone else that this is just the latest in a long series of screwups by the MS Money team? I love how they can't even use proper English on their Network Status page: "You may need to reset up your accounts again " On Jul 23, 11:42 pm, DRR <D...[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: - quote - > I also have run into the same problems. | I also have run into the same problems. I followed the intructions exactly...disconnected the online services for each account...even setup new accounts and tried to run the updates. However, nothing seems to work and always results in "Account setup is temporarily unavailable." Any other suggestions? | Money's critical banking update is not working. I can not get help from Microsoft support, Money support or even a response from the "experts" in this newsgroup. Now, I can not even make electronic payment through Money/MSN Bill Pay. I explicitly follow Money's "critical banking update" instructions only to get a response for the past three days "Account setup unavailable. Account setup is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later" error message. Looks like I'll try a company that gives a crap about it's customers. |
