I stopped Money from receiving account updates from MSN Money My Accounts
(one can disable and reenable it in "Tools" - "Settings"), and all my
accounts resumed connections with the relevent financial institutions. I had
to reenter the login information for one of the banks whose account can only
be updated using what Microsoft used to call ".Net Passport" service. I
didn't have to recreate any account manually or download information
manually. But I still think that it shows poor service that Microsoft does
this kind of update without prior notice to customers. The company did,
however, provide a web link that gives instructions on how to reenable
automatic updates from financial institutions that use the ".Net Passport"
service.

In the meantime, you might try logging in as an system administrator and
doing the update. For some reason, that fixed the problem for me a while
back. However, I was just getting investment price updates, not downloading
account information.

Banking Services Update coming in July for Money users

When: Mid-July (on or around July 19)

Effect:

In mid-July, Money’s banking services will be updated. The update
will affect customers who use MSN Money My Accounts and Microsoft
Money 2005, 2006, and 2007. During the update, online services such
as account balance updates and transaction downloads may not
respond. After the update, you may need to set up your accounts
again to regain access to online services.

This should improve downloads of transactions for FIs, such as
PayPal, where the transactions come in via a third party.

I have been using MS 2007 for a few days with no problem. This past week I
have been trying to update my accounts and I get an error message that says

"You cannot perform this operation right now. This is an online operation in
progress. Try again later."

I have probably attempted to update my account info 10 different times in
the past week. I also get this error when I try to provide my sign in
information for my paypal money market account.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
