I finally got it. When I went into Explorer, the exe files were not there
just shortcuts. It seems like they were eliminated. So what I did was
reinstall the program and then everything worked. Not sure why some of my
programs are disappearing. I find that icons disappear and sometimes files
and I don't know why this is happening. It would appear that the security
programs should be showing this happening but I am not sure where I would
look for information on program deletion and who is doing it. In this case,
even the exe programs and dll's were gone and I had some other garbage
attempting to start the program. In any event, thanks for all your help.
Just trying what you suggested helped me resolve the issue by seeing what was
there and what was not.

I tried both. It says "Money is already running" But there is nothing
on the screen and nothing in the task bar showing the program is open. It
is like everything is hidden behind something.

In Windows Explorer, find sample.mny in your install folder
(typically "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money 2006"). Right-click the
file and choose Open. Does that launch Money successfully?

If so, click to
Tools-> Settings-> ProgramSettings-> (DisplayStartMoneyWithThisPageOpen:AccountList.
Close Money. Try opening your real Money file once or twice.

All of a sudden this program won't open. It quickly flashes open then
immediately shuts down. I am also having this same problem with
spreadsheets (Works Suite).

Does anyone know how to get it to open?
