| Yes, that would probably work. I generally think of it in a context of applying sales tax, but it should work here as well. | Hi Jerry I think there is a way to do this. The problem is, I assume, that you do not spend the same money all the time but you want to be the split amounts / categories percentage-wise the same. Well, if you have done this once manually, you could then manually enter a new transaction with a different total. MM will then ask / say that the total does not match the split amounts. If you say Ok and go to the split transaction dialog box and then OK again, Money suggests four solutions of which the third (I think) is to equally distribute the difference (according to the amounts in the first transaction), which, I think, is just what you need. You should try this once and let us know. | You haven't provided much context of where and when and how you want to do this (downloaded transactions, hand-entered transactions, etc.), but Money can make a new transaction for a Payee match a prior one for the same Payee as far as categories. But it cannot do this as a function of a priori specified percentages. | Like most of us we shop at Wally World a lot. We always purchase groceries and household items. I want to split each purchase made a WW at 80% groceries and 20% household stuff. Can Money07 do this for me automatically? Jerry -- What we live with we learn... What we learn we practice.... What we practice we become... And what we become has consequences... |
