in both accounts, at no time am I given or can I find an option to "match"
with an existing transaction.

Money 2007 Deluxe

I automatically download both my bank and credit card transactions. How do I
get MONEY to recognize that the "credit card payment" transaction on my bank
account matches the identical but opposite "credit" transaction on my credit
card account?

When I change the downloaded transaction type to "Credit Card Payment :
Discover Card Credit Card" in my Bank Account transaction list, I can find no
way to tell money to "match the indentical transation in my Discover Card
account transactions." Instead, MONEY creates a "new" and duplicate "credit"
transaction on my Discover Card transaction list.

"Automatically accept all downloaded transactions from banking statements"
is NOT checked.
