| I am having the same problem converting my Money 99 file. I found the knowledge base document 913108 and tried to use the Money 2005 program. However, when I try to load the Money 99 file in the downloaded partial Money 2005 program, I get a message stating that Money 2005 needs to download more of itself to complete the task. At that point, nothing happens. As far as I can tell the program just stops and doesn't download the necessary program. When I try to use the Money 2004 program, it seems to install correctly, but the program hangs during the file conversion process and never finishes. Have these methods been tested? Has anyone performed a successful conversion of a Money 99 file? I have so much information I just can't start over. Help? | I am having problems as well. However, I have been able to get Money 99 to run on XP. The problem is that the Tour that runs immediately after the install fails. However, if you remove the CD and start the program, it works. I don't know if this helps, but best of luck with it. "tico67" wrote: - quote - > Art : > Thanks for your answer. This is the situation. | I have Money 99 and recently bought a new vista computer. 99 wont run on it of course, and the 2006 version that came on it wouldnt open the file. I read the microsoft solution, which says to uninstall, then DL 2005 and convert through there, however the software will not update saying that I need to be logged in as an administrator (which I am!). Plus now I dont have the stupid 2006 version anymore either.... Anyone got an idea here? |

| Art : Thanks for your answer. This is the situation. Currently I´m using Money 07, which stores my information from 06-07. The information from 99-05 is store in the Money 99 version, which at some point in time I tried ot update. I tried to upgrade from 99 to 03 but I didn't work, so keept some hard copies and gave up. Now I have a new impulse to try to recover this information. The first problem that I have is that when I try to upload the 99 version ( in order to follow your advise and export the files as QIF), it doesn't work on my computer as I'm now using a Windows XP version and accordingly with the disk the Money 99 works on W95 or NT. So is there something else I can do to avoid this problem ?. | If you absolutely have to have your 99 information merged into your 2003 information it will take alot of work (and multiple backups to make certain you can get back after something does not work as you want it). 1) upgrade your 2003 information to 2007. 2) using Money 99 program export the accounts you are interested in moving to Money 2007 as QIF files. 3) backup your Money 2007 file 4) load the QIF files 5) make another backup of your now updated Money 2007 files 6) go account by account cleaning up the starting point, duplicate any over lap between the 2003 dataset and the 99 dataset, and change some transactions to transfers. 7) make another backup 8) use system for while and find out if needs further correction. | Note that if I have read your message correctly, you have stopped using your M99 for new transactions and are using your M2003 for current actions. In that case, there is no easy and complete way of integrating both these data sets into a single M2007 file. You would still end up with two files in M2007. Make sure they have different names before doing the conversion to M2007. -- Peace, BobJ "Cal Learner-- MVP" <via_newsgroup[at]please.tnx> wrote in message news:5g8093l80kb1neh7ms25kmbnu3i17jj8og[at]4ax.com... - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, tico67 wrote: > > Can somebody tell me how I can upgrade information from Money 99 up to > > Money > > 07 ?
