Sadly, they still keep it very tightly held. There's MoneyLink. See
http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=10.

Fair enough.

AAMOI, are there any tools out where which can interface with the .mny file
format other than Money itself?

I thought I read somewhere that it was just an "internal" version of the Jet
..mdb format, but I may be wrong in that.

Correct. I've done some work on a design for the database of a Money
replacement. From that PoV, it's fairly easy to see why they made it work
the way it does. The alternative is pretty ugly internally.

H Dick,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, that's it exactly!

Oh well - I can live with it.

I take it that this "feature" hasn't changed in later versions?

So, you have a transaction in Current that is, say, a ?200 transaction split
into a ?50 Transfer:Savings and a ?50 Transfer:Savings and a ?100
Transfer:Savings. When you look in the Current account you see the total
transaction for ?200 (unless you hit Ctrl+S...) not the three separate
transactions of ?50 Transfer:Current, ?50 Transfer:Current, and ?100
Transfer:Current you see in the register for the Savings account.

That's the way Money works. From the PoV of the Savings account register it
is really three transactions. I agree it might be nice for the linkage to be
reserved, but it isn't.

Default Split transfers

Hello,

I'm based in the UK and still using Money 2004.

Let's say I have two accounts set up - current and savings.

Let's say that in the current account I create a new split transaction which
consists of three transfers to the savings account.

In the current account, the transaction is shown as one split transaction
but, in the savings account, it shows as three separate transactions
corresponding to the three amounts in the split.

Is there any way to show this as a single split transaction in the savings
account?

Is this possible in later versions? I believe the latest version which works
in the UK is 2005...

Thanks,

DJ
