I would not expect that would make it worse.

I would make sure you don't overwrite a useful back. Consider
increasing the number of backups Money 2007 saves. Go to
Tools-> Settings-> BackupSettings.

Consider File-> Restore of a backup that pre-dates the problem. Don't
restore to the default location, but instead browse to your
MyDocuments folder and restore to a different name.

You also might want to consider contacting Microsoft support
tomorrow.

YOu could disable online access your accounts that require the data
pass thru a third party, and remove the LiveID/Passport. You could
add it back in later if you like. You would try that on a copy of
your file.

Sorry for the multiple posts. Do you think updating to 2007 would help? Can
it hurt? I'm willing to try updating as long as I don't make the problem
worse.

I'm using XP pro. Went through the documents you recommended but still can't
log in. The error dialog reads...

"The e-mail address of password is incorrect. Please try again.

If you are sure that you typed your credentials correctly, the server may be
undergoing maintenance. Please try again later..."

I tried creating a new file. It logs in fine.

File repair says there is nothing to repair.

GRRR.

Using Windows 96 or ME? See

Otherwise if http://support.microsoft.com/kb/891338/en-us helps.

Don't get too desperate. For example, if you deleted your
LiveID/Passport in desperation, that would be very
counterproductive.

Stuart,

First, check to make sure your computer is set for the correct date and
time.

If I remember correctly Money will lock you out of your file if you enter
the wrong sign in information too many times.
I think it lasts for 1 day.

You may be able to get around the lock out by fiddling with the date and
time but I'm not sure about that.

Hope this helps.

Default Can't log in to Money 2006

I have MS Money 2006 and can't log in to my file since sometime Sunday night.
I can still log in to Messenger and this newsgroup and anything else that
uses the passport authentication. I know I'm using the correct email address
and password.

Getting desparate!
